Our privately and family-owned practice combines more than four decades in the Las Vegas community with extensive experience caring for traditional and exotic pets.
We also have special expertise and interest in avian and exotic pet medicine, which is a major part of our practice. Dr. Bryan Kenton has a BS in Avian Science in addition to his DVM. He also has extensive experience with parrots, raptors, and fowl. Dr. Michael Williams focuses on reptiles and small mammals. We are always happy to help educate clients about husbandry, nutrition, grooming, vaccinations, and behavior.
Sudden or serious changes in your pet’s health can be signs that your pet requires prompt veterinary attention. Warning signs can differ significantly by species, though a few are universal. These may include:
Birds and exotic pets can hide illness until they are quite sick. Concerning signs may include labored breathing, unusual lethargy, loss of appetite, changes in droppings, difficulty perching, abnormal shedding, sudden weight changes, swelling, or abrupt behavioral changes.
Signs of illness in birds may include:
Birds often hide signs of illness, so even subtle changes in normal behavior, appetite, droppings, posture, or activity can be important.
Signs of illness in reptiles may include:
For reptiles, changes in appetite or activity can sometimes relate to temperature, lighting, season, or normal species behavior, but they can also indicate illness. A veterinarian experienced with reptiles can evaluate the animal along with its diet, enclosure, temperature, humidity, UVB lighting, and other husbandry factors.
Here at Flamingo Pet Clinic, our urgent care services include care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and other exotic pets. Contact us at 702-734-9761 if you think your pet is ill or injured.
Our veterinary team provides urgent and critical care for birds, reptiles, small mammals, dogs, and cats during our available clinic hours. Birds and many exotic species instinctively hide signs of illness, so seemingly subtle changes in appetite, breathing, posture, droppings, activity, or behavior can warrant prompt attention. If your bird or exotic pet appears ill or injured, call 702-734-9761 rather than waiting for the symptoms to become more obvious.
Our veterinary services cover preventive care, as well as medical, diagnostic, dental, and surgical needs for a wide range of pets. Services include wellness and vaccinations, allergy and dermatology care, nutrition and weight management, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, laser therapy, quality-of-life care, and urgent care. We also offer exotic pet care, avian care, reptile husbandry, and interstate health certificates. We tailor recommendations to the individual animal rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Avian medicine is a major part of our practice. We provide comprehensive medical, surgical, preventative, and grooming care for birds, including parrots, raptors, and fowl. Our avian veterinary care services include wellness exams, nutritional guidance, DNA sex testing, behavioral and enrichment consultations, urgent care, and other services. We customize treatment options based on each bird’s individual needs. Dr. Kenton’s background in Avian Science gives our team valuable insight into the distinctive health needs of feathered patients.
Yes. We provide both surgical and grooming care for avian patients as part of our extensive bird care services. Depending on the bird and its needs, grooming may include wing, beak, and nail care, while surgical recommendations are based on the individual patient’s condition and veterinary evaluation. Because birds have unique anatomy and physiology, having a veterinary team experienced with avian patients is particularly important when medical or surgical care is needed.
Our exotic pet care ranges from routine wellness to medical, surgical, grooming, diagnostic, and urgent care for many nontraditional pets. We also help owners understand diet, supplements, habitat setup, husbandry, behavior, and other species-specific needs that can greatly affect health. We see many birds, reptiles, and small mammals, but we do not treat rats or rabbits.
Yes. Our veterinarians provide reptile husbandry guidance covering habitat, temperature, lighting, humidity, nutrition, routine veterinary care, and other species-specific needs. Proper husbandry is especially important for reptiles. If reptiles’ habitats aren’t set up properly, they’re more susceptible to illness. We can help both new and experienced reptile owners evaluate their pet’s setup and develop a care plan suited to the particular species.
Yes. We provide interstate health certificates for dogs and cats traveling or relocating within the United States. A health certificate, also called a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), confirms that a veterinarian examined your pet and confirmed it meets the applicable health requirements for travel. Because requirements and timelines vary by destination and airline, you may need to complete health certificates within a specific travel window. We recommend contacting us well before your planned departure so we can help you prepare the necessary documentation.
We offer several ways to pay for veterinary care. We offer Cherry and CareCredit as financing options. Because terms and availability can change, please review the current payment information or contact our staff with questions before your visit. You can go to our Payment Options page for more information.
Yes, we offer pet boarding. To get started, you may submit a Boarding Registration form with your pet’s information, requested dates, emergency contacts, medications, and special instructions. Submitting the form does not reserve or confirm a boarding stay. A member of our staff will contact you to confirm arrangements.
Please contact us directly at (702) 734-9761 or via our Contact form with questions about booking, availability, species eligibility, and current health or vaccination requirements before making travel plans.
Regular veterinary wellness visits are important for a few reasons. First, it is always easier to prevent an illness than to treat it. Wellness care typically includes preventative veterinary care, such as pet vaccinations and parasite control. Wellness care also establishes a baseline health snapshot for your pet, which provides key information about what is normal for them. That is extremely helpful for identifying minor changes that may indicate a developing health problem.
Wellness and preventative veterinary care may include physical examinations, appropriate pet vaccinations, nutritional guidance, weight management, diagnostic screening, dental evaluation, and discussions about behavior or husbandry. Routine veterinary wellness is especially valuable for birds, reptiles, and other exotic animals because they have unique physiologies and often try to hide early signs of illness.
You can submit a secure online medication request through our website for products your pet needs. Please allow up to two business days for requests to be reviewed, filled, and made available for pickup. For your pet’s safety, we review all medication requests against the medical record. A veterinarian must authorize refills. Our staff will contact you if we have questions or cannot process a request.
